2019 Available Veteran Scholarships

Several scholarships supporting veterans are available to be awarded in 2019. Funds and material provided to make these awards and scholarships possible are provided by United Airlines and the numerous members of the Northrop Rice Foundation. The available scholarships are described below. A veteran may not apply for a scholarship previously won by the veteran. The scholarship process is administered by the Northrop Rice Foundation and the scholarship recipients are selected by the NRF Board of Directors. The application process requirements are at Veterans Application Process

The Northrop Rice Foundation annually offers up to two financial assistance scholarships to honorably discharged military applicants seeking A&P certification based on the applicant’s military training and experience. These scholarships can be used toward the cost of reference text books, study guides, or test fees related to the FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant written tests. If these scholarships are not awarded to applicants meeting the requirements above, one or both of the scholarships may be awarded to honorably discharged veterans attending FAA-approved Part 147 schools.

UNITED AIRLINES Veteran Scholarship

United Airlines offers an aviation scholarship to an honorably discharged veteran student needing financial assistance. The veteran must be participating in a FAR Part 147 school’s Aviation Maintenance Technician training program. The scholarship provides fifteen-hundred dollars ($1,500) which may be applied toward tuition, books, or tools depending on the category of assistance desired.
