Northrop Rice Foundation Scholarship Application Process

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have an A&P Certificate and be teaching at a FAA-certificated
    Part 147 School;
  • The FAA-certificated Part 147 School must be a 2019 member of the Northrop
    Rice Foundation or the applicant must be a 2019 Northrop Rice Foundation
    Individual Member; and
  • The applicant must have the School Administrator’s approval to attend the course.


An application package for this award must include:

  1. A fully completed application form … form available at application form;
  2. A list of the subjects taught by the applicant instructor;
  3. An essay describing how the applicant’s past work, training, and accomplishments
    have resulted in the enhancement of courses taught by the applicant;
  4. Preliminary details describing the training sought, training provider with contact
    information, training dates, and expected transportation and per diem costs; and
  5. An essay describing how the training will enhance the applicant’s teaching
    abilities as an AMT instructor.

Award Notifications and Ceremony

The applicants selected for the scholarship will be announced at the Awards Luncheon
held during the Aviation Technician Education Council’s (ATEC) 2019 Annual
Conference. The scholarship winner will be notified by e-mail in early March 2019.
