Boeing 787 Class Scholarship Application Process

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have an A&P Certificate and be teaching at a FAA-certificated
    Part 147 School;
  • The FAA-certificated Part 147 School must be a 2018 member of the Northrop
    Rice Foundation or the applicant must be a 2018 Northrop Rice Foundation
    Individual Member; and
  • The applicant must have the School Administrator’s approval to attend the course.

Applications

An application package for this award must include:

  1. A fully completed application form … form available at Instructor Application Form;
  2. The following personal information: full name as it appears on a government issued
    photo identification (e.g., U.S. Passport, State Driver License, etc.);
    Country of citizenship; date of birth (month, day, year); and job title at the Part
    147 school.
  3. An essay describing how the training will enhance the applicant’s teaching
    abilities as an AMT instructor. The essay must also address each of the following
    questions:
    a. What are your challenges inspiring today’s students as they look into a
    career in aviation?
    b. What do you expect to gain from this experience at the Boeing course?
    c. How will you implement the information gained into your teaching?
    d. What questions would you have for the course instructor or factory tour
    guide?

Application Process

  • Application must be submitted in one PDF file, with the instructor’s name
    included in the file title, to awards@northropricefoundation.org.
  • Applications on file January 31, 2018 will be consider for the scholarship.

Award Notifications and Ceremony

The applicants selected for the scholarship will be announced at the Awards Luncheon
held during the Aviation Technician Education Council’s (ATEC) 2018 Annual
Conference. The scholarship winner will be notified by e-mail before March 31, 2018.
